Eating disorders are serious, and they're hiding in plain sight.

Eating disorders are mental illnesses that affect over one million Australians. They impact people of all genders, ages and backgrounds. Contrary to popular belief, you can't tell if someone has an eating disorder by looking at them. Due to the severe impact that eating disorders can have on a person's mental, physical and social health, it's important to know the warning signs for yourself or someone you care about, and seek help as early as possible.

Yes, recovery is possible!

With the right support, anyone can recover from an eating disorder.

Early intervention is important, but be assured that anyone can recover from an eating disorder no matter the duration of illness. At Eating Disorders Victoria, we're committed to providing people affected by eating disorders, their support people and health professionals, with the information and skills needed across the journey, from discovery to recovery.
